Zombie ants and the fungus housed inside.

When we see a zombie movie, gives us no fear ... in fact often makes us laugh. But if it makes us laugh, it is only because we know that is not real and we see ridiculous. But in nature, zombies exist. They are called "zombies Ants."
In the humid and lush Thai jungle there is a fungus (Ophiocordyceps unilateralis) that is capable of penetrating the interior of a certain species of ant, and from within the handling on their behalf. Not only about this fungus and with this type of ant ... but hey, one day talk about these ....

The fungus requires the ant parasite which infects, to die in the most appropriate place for the fungus to grow and reproduce. Basically they are forced to find a wet and out of the sun, then the ant zombie, digs his jaw (on the underside of the leaf) and holds on tightly with his paws. At that moment dies, the fungus begins to develop, and the ant has served basis, whether as a shelter under exoskeleton or a base is to develop fully.

As a picture is worth a thousand words, I put a video here for you to see how everything happens.

View this process is truly amazing and so far, no one knows very well how the fungus can control the ant.

Common Raven or Crow.

The Common Raven deserves mention as one of the most amazing animals that currently exist on Earth. It's a smart bird, adaptable to various environments and with very peculiar characteristics.

As it is and then describe some interesting common crow.

The common crow is found throughout the Northern Hemisphere is the corvid species with the largest area of distribution. With Thick-billed crow, is the largest of the corvids and probably the heaviest passerine, at maturity, the Common Raven is between 52 and 69 centimeters in length and its weight varies from 0.69 to 1.7 kilograms. Common Ravens usually live 10 to 15 but some individuals have lived 40 years. Juveniles may travel in groups, but already formed couples stay together all their lives, each pair defending a territory.
The common raven coexists with humans for thousands of years and in some regions is so abundant that a species is considered harmful. Part of their success is due to their omnivorous diet, the Common Raven is extremely opportunistic, feeding on carrion, insects, food waste, grain, berries, fruit and small animals. Have revealed several notable shows resolution of problems in this species, suggesting that the Common Raven is very intelligent.

Let the curious:

The Common Raven has one of the largest brains of all species of birds. It also shows various skills such as problem solving as well as imitation and intuition.

It has been reported that crows are at other animals to work for them, for example by calling the wolves and coyotes to the place of a carcass. The canine then open the carcass, making it more accessible to the ravens. Also known to observe where other ravens hide their food and remember these places, allowing them to steal. The Common Raven is known for stealing shiny objects and hide as rocks, pieces of metal and golf balls.

Young ravens are birds of all players.

Crows attract vultures (eared, tawny, black) to open tough skins on carrion.

Crows attack pests harmful to man and transmission of diseases such as pigeons and rats. Watch the video.

Reduce pests such as cane toad Australia. This animal is not native to Australia and is considered a pest because any animal that wants to devour you find that is poisonous, not taking it no predators in the area. But the common raven has learned to turn and begin to devour the belly, which is the only part of the skin that has no poison.

Sea wasp or Chironex fleckeri.

The sea wasp Chironex fleckeri is considered the most poisonous animal on the planet. Although no antidote is capable of killing a person with the mere touch in 30 minutes. Within 20 minutes of the sting of stinging cells, begins what is called irukanjdi syndrome: begins an intense pain throughout the body, heart rate triples, doubles blood pressure, death usually occurs after a cardiac embolism.
The main body is almost square, translucent blue and green (so it is very difficult to distinguish at sea), of which 60 cilia or tentacles out of about 80 cm long each. It is almost transparent, making it very difficult watching for swimmers. Moreover, their bites are imperceptible.
Usually is found in tropical waters of Australia and other areas of the western Indian Ocean and Pacific.
But even if a dangerous animal, it remains one of the most beautiful animals to see.

Curiosity: Contrary to popular belief about their movement and unlike the common jellyfish, most of whom are blind, this species has four groups of twenty eyes. But it is unclear whether they can keep the light targets or how to process images as they do not have central nervous system. Nothing in pulses of 1.5 m / s, giving it enough speed to catch fish.

Giant wild pig or boar.

Cimarron is any pet that escaped from their owners and are naturalized. In some areas, also called feral wild animals with domestic relatives.
In the case of domestic pigs these are transformed into the body of the boar. Rather, it seems.
After a few months in the wild, domesticated pigs tend to resemble the wild boar, as dark bristles develop throughout the body and thin enough kilos. But the changes do not end there, the snout is elongated and changes its shape with the typical curve of feral flies.
Even more, the character becomes domesticated pig: "They combine the" unfair competition "from the goats to predation by dogs and cats, making them one of the most damaging feral remote islands. Where there are pigs Maroons, there is usually extinct flightless birds close to extinction. " (Wikipedia)

Pigs can easily reach a weight of 350 kg or more. Given its wild character and their omnivorous diet and their developed intelligence (higher than the chimpanzee) make these animals about potential hazards.

Fosa o fossa

The fosa or fossa is a species of carnivorous mammal of the family of viverrids. It is the largest native carnivore in Madagascar. Despite its strong resemblance both physically and customs with the canines and felines, the fossa is actually a representative of the viverrids, the same family that owns the genets, mongooses and meerkats. It is the dominant predator of the island and main hunter of lemurs after man.
The fossa is 80 inches long, plus 90 inches of tail with 15 kg.
The body is long, muscular and agile. The pits can run at high speed on the ground and climbing trees amazingly fast, thanks to the extraordinary grip on her bare feet and fitted with retractable claws (a characteristic typical of cats, but absent in other viverrids except in the pit). They may even jump from one tree to another as if they were small squirrels, jumps up to 6 meters.
They are really agile animals.
In Madagascar, the fossa is taken by an animal almost diabolical. Circulate all sorts of legends, but all unreal. In fact, they are usually easily to life in captivity, where they are docile and affectionate with their owners.
